This place is ok if you are a wild partier. There are drunk people coming and going and seems that everyone smokes Pot there. The street has a continuous crowd outside the doors the smoke drugs. They have a Bar where alcohol is served but they make you buy food for every drink you order. If you have kids you sure dont want them at a place like this. Now I must comment on the Woofing program they have there. It is a joke. This is not a farm it is a 4 level building in the middle of a city infested with homeless folks and drug users. The woofing here consists of cleaning rooms, toilets and doing laundry. You get paid in homemade currency that can only be used on location to buy food or drink. The owners of this hostel seem to like ripping off people who woof there. Here is how it works. You want to buy a meal( if you can call it that) you pay with the in house money but you do not get change or credit of any kind.Nothing on their menu comes out to even dollar amounts. So the owners are basically using the woofing program as what I call slave labor. Read Full Review

There's something special about Victoria. Maybe something in the water! Ocean Island makes Victoria such a fun place. You can come home as late as you want, you can set up your room the way you want, you can get calls on their payphones, do your laundry, cook your food, check your e-mail, all the typical stuff, and it's so *comfy*!
